Crossing Time Zones

5/31 Maryville (pronounced murryville by locals)

Our short and sweet ride into Maryville turned out to be extremely tiring for me even though I was sweeping. Jackie and I took the day really easy; we grabbed coffee in Gatlinburg and food later on as we got into Maryville. There was a small waterfall, where we took some pictures, and also found a danger sign stating to closely control children. Jackie happens to look like a 5 year old in her bike gear so she posed with the sign lol. Later on in the night we camped out in the front yard of a church since something came up last minute and they couldn't host us inside. I can't wait to actually camp out in Arizona where we can star gaze. Some of us went to the Planetarium back when we were in Chapel Hill, so we can use that knowledge to star gaze.

6/1 Maryville Build Day

Ahhhh, nothing better than biking to your build site and then biking back after being completely drained....lol oh well, it's still worth it because build days are always great. This time we're helping to do the flooring and stucco the foundation. It was well carried out and we all had something to keep us occupied. Greg is our oldest member lol he got in because Kristian calculated his age wrong. Greg is actually 26 when the program only lets up to 25 year olds lol. I got to leave a special message to the future owners of the house on the flooring we did.

Sweetwater and Dunlap

Nothing too eventful these days, we stayed a the National Guard Armory both of these nights and had family movie nights. Drew, Neel, and I took some pictures with the equipment. We've all pretty much become a big family even though we're dead tired half the times. Oh, and we went to see the underground lake and cave of Sweetwater! It would be so nice to have discovered it originally like the 13 year old kid who did. How amazing it must have been to have something so immense all to yourself and in its natural state unlike how ours was since it became a tourist attraction. At the top of the mountain in Dunlap there was an amazing view of the downhill we were going to descend. This pic here is of Drew and Bennett overlooking the mountaintop. We waited up there and got some videos of them coasting downwards and screaming. Oh, and we crossed into Central time today and gained an our =]. How cool is that?

6/4 Monteagle

Mountains, after a while, it's just all about mental strength and focus. As hard as it gets I just try to think of something peaceful. The nice blue sky usually always helps me get through it all. I tried biking all the way up without stopping today, but got faked out by an early plateau =[. On the other hand, we all did a dance at the top hahaha. It was pretty awesome. I'll post a link to it when I get the video.

G'night world.
