Shake Down

It's finally hit me. This morning I woke up and thought about how nuts this trips is and how nuts I am, but you know what? I love it.

We had a 21 mile "shake down" ride where we made a stop at Bodie Island Lighthouse. The lighthouse is a bit cut off, but everyone from our group is in there. Can you spot me out? (hint:: to the right)

Imagine 32 cyclists riding single file down the road in uniforms (sweet!!!) and cars cheering us on =]. Oh, and I love the reactions we get when people ask us where we're biking to. "California?!?!, uhmm-well...good luck..."

Here's a before picture of the trailer that we're going to repaint this year. If anyone has any creative ideas lemme know. We're painting it within the next few days.

Also, thanks to all of my donors =]. I tried to get everyone to tag my equipment before I left, but if I didn't get to you sorry! I'll make it up somehow. I'll post up the rest of the tagged equipment later on.

A couple final notes before we begin our wheel dip into the east coast waters tomorrow morning and head off to Swans Quarters N.C. on a 66 mile ride.

I still have a death grip on my handlebars.

I can't signal with my hands, so I scream out everything.

I will be biking through the Appalachians very soon.

This is awesome.

Wake up call 5:30am.

  3. Everything is awesome...except for that 5:30 wake up call.
Hahaaaa....have you been working on learning how to signal? I'm not sure I know how to either.
Have you already painted the trailer? I am assuming that you have, but I think it would be adorable with little bright colored stick figures building little houses! I did just come from a first grade classroom, can't you tell?
